BUYING TICKETS: In Thailand, you can buy tickets on the official DTicket website for long distance trains with numbers up to 199. For ordinary and local trains with numbers from 200 up, you can only buy tickets at your local train station up to two hours before departure. Some people living abroad have reported problems opening the official SRT website or using foreign credit cards, so you may prefer using the 12Go or Baolau agency websites instead. They charge a fee, but many travellers say the process is easier. Click here for more information and tips.
